Recent museum visits

Erasmus in Tenerife 2

I recently visited the Museo de Archaeologico in Puerto de la Cruz, it’s a small museum in a beautiful traditional building and has some really nice displays of Tenerife’s traditional ceramics of the Guanches, how they are made, their origins and displays showing their use and video of them being made. It’s a great little museum but of course the MNH in Santa Cruz is more extensive but they are both worth going to.

and the MNH in Santa Cruz (below)  has excellent examples of mummification and ceramics as well, some thorough interpretations and reading materials and in all is a wonderful collection in an extensive museum covering the anthropological and geological history of the Canary islands, in particular Tenerife as it is the largest and the region’s capital.
